The Trust Board recognizes and acknowledges members of our Board, staff, community and policy holders who have been impacted in personal ways by the recent spate of horrific murders of Black people, including Rayshard Brooks, George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and Ahmaud Arbery and many others named and unnamed. These acts of racial violence, anti-Blackness, and institutional racism have a long history and are deeply embedded in our society and disproportionately impact communities of color.
Dr. Jana Martin, CEO of The Trust, joins Dr. Graham Taylor to address ethics and considerations around the medium of video conferencing and how that can affect your patients and practice. They look further into the recent explosion in telehealth and how it can allow practitioners to extend their services and provide patients greater access to treatment.
We have received a large volume of calls from our insureds about how to manage the risks the corona virus pandemic poses to patients and to themselves. As risk managers, we are committed to supporting you in ethical, safe practice. We provide general risk guidance based on current knowledge and conditions. Of course, we are unable to provide medical advice. If you have specific questions about your individual situation, please feel free to schedule a call to speak with one of The Trust’s Advocate 800 Program's risk managers.

Our hearts go out to all California residents and especially our Trust policyholders. Along with the rest of the nation, we are closely monitoring the wildfires that are ravaging the state. Please know that if you are in areas impacted by the wildfires, we are relaxing our normal renewal protocols, and we will be lenient with non-payments and late renewals. In the meantime, you may continue to receive notices from us, but if you are in the impacted areas know that we will work with you to ensure you are able to retain coverage and avoid any additional charges for renewing after a reasonable deadline. Our main concern is for you to be safe and renew or pay your premiums when you can safely do so...
Encryption is the ‘scrambling’ or camouflaging of information—such as progress notes or names and diagnoses—by changing it into a form that cannot be understood by others. In other words, encryption translates meaningful information into a hidden form or code. Only people who have a key—usually a string of alphanumeric symbols that permit the coded information to be translated back into meaningful form—can read the document (Taube 2013).
The Trust is excited to announce that we’re now accepting American Express for professional liability insurance premium payments in response to client requests.
The Trust has been the preferred provider of professional liability insurance for the American Psychological Association, or APA, for the past five years. That endorsement was part of an agreement between The Trust and APA. As of July 1, 2018, the relationship between APA and The Trust has ended. The Trust was very interested in continuing its relationship with APA and presented several proposals which took into account APA’s membership numbers and the many ways that The Trust provides value to APA. Unfortunately, The Trust and APA could not come to an agreement on a number of terms, and APA decided to go with another company.
The Trust and Trust Risk Management Services (TRMS) is proud to announce its new partnership with, and endorsement by, the American Academy of Pediatric Neuropsychology (AAPdN).
More psychologists choose The Trust for their financial security needs than any other provider. But don’t just take our word for it – hear it straight from our Trustees, many of whom are long-time policyholders.
