Trust Board Statement: Racist Rampage in Buffalo, NY

The Trust Board recognizes and acknowledges members of our Board, staff, community and policy holders who have been impacted in personal ways by the continuing acts of racial violence in our country. The most recent episode is the senseless massacre of innocent lives in a Buffalo, NY community of predominantly African American citizens.  Racism and racially motivated violence is abhorrent and, sadly, serves to once again reinforce the presence of deeply embedded attitudes of anti-blackness and acts of racial violence toward African Americans and all People of Color in our society.

The Trust remains dedicated to promoting anti-racist action in all aspects of its operations, products, and risk-management activities. As an organization whose mission includes providing education and training programs, The Trust will continue to strive to model cultural humility, promote diversity, equity, and inclusion, and be faithful to professional ethics, laws, and regulations.

We continue to speak about these anti-racist acts in our society because silence is unacceptable and we are compelled by the forces of integrity, respect, dignity, and the rights of all peoples to live without fear, threat, intimidation or marginalization. We speak because we want to be recorded in history as publicly standing on the principles of justice during these continuing difficult times. We  value life over power, character over appearance, and humanity overall.

The Trust remains steadfast in working toward the day that systemic racism is past, social justice is the norm, and all people and communities are valued and treated with dignity, respect and equality.

The Trust remains  steadfast in working toward the day that systemic racism is past, social justice is the norm, and all people and communities are valued and treated with dignity, respect and equality.
