Mariya Leyderman, Psy.D., HSP

Dr. Mariya Leyderman is a licensed clinical forensic psychologist.  She is appointed by the Louisville Metro Government Mayor as the Executive Chief Psychologist at the Louisville Metro Department of Corrections (LMDC).  She oversees all of the mental health, clinical programming, medication assisted treatment, and officer wellbeing services at LMDC.  She created LMDC’s first officer Peer Support Team and oversees it.  Her clinical work has focused on trauma, substance use, and treatment of individuals who are justice involved.  Prior to her current role, Dr. Leyderman was contracted by Louisville Metro Government for the past six years as a trainer and consultant, where she developed and implemented training for correctional and police officers.  She earned her Doctorate from Spalding University, with subsequent training in federal prison and forensic private practice
