Deepest condolences for recent tragedies

It is with great sadness that we report to our extended Trust community the loss of our esteemed colleagues.

Last Friday a former soldier killed himself and three employees at a veterans home north of San Francisco. After a lengthy standoff Albert Wong killed Dr. Jennifer Gonzales, a clinical psychologist, Christine Loeber, LSCW, the Executive Director and Dr. Jennifer Golick the Clinical Director, before he turned the gun on himself. The Pathway Home, is a counseling service for veterans who suffer post -traumatic stress disorder. Wong had been dismissed from the home two days earlier after threatening one of the women.

On that same day, Dr. Nancy Alford died in her home after she and her husband had been kidnapped and robbed in Littleton, N.C.. The intruders eventually set the home on fire and Dr. Alford was unable to escape. Dr. Alford was a clinical psychologist at Carriage House of Psychological Associates.

We extend our deepest condolences to all of the involved families.
