Social Justice Statement from The Trust and Our Trustees
The Trust recognizes and acknowledges members of our Board, staff, community and policyholders who have been impacted in personal ways by the recent spate of horrific murders of Black people, including Rayshard Brooks, George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and Ahmaud Arbery, and of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders, among many others named and unnamed. These acts of racial violence, anti-Blackness, anti-Asian racism, and institutional racism have a long history and are deeply embedded in our society and disproportionately impact communities of color. The Trust condemns these hate crimes and acts of racism. Our sentiments and solidarity are with the victims and their families and friends so critically affected by these indefensible acts. The Trust Communities remain steadfast in working towards the day that systemic racism is past, social justice is the norm, and all communities are treated with respect and equality.
